Muhoroni sugar belt in Kisumu County is the latest farming zone to report a desert locust invasion.The number of locust is said to have progressed very fast for over two weeks.This invation could be a big blow to our economy and it especially poses threats to sugarcane farmers, who are already facing challenges.It is a rich agricultural zone with large sugarcane and rice plantations, horticulture farming as well as other crops.
